Adam Morrigan aka Red is a Master Craftsman with 30 + years of making from rawhide hide to leather to hand made and finished
His passion began in his late teens whilst living in London. Learning from seasoned saddle and harness makers, the principles and practice of leather hand crafting processes.
These early experiences took him on a journey him learning from indigenous peoples across the globe, to such uk based luminaries as Valerie Michael and Neil MacGregor. Eventually teaching the entire process at the John Ruskin, #WilliamMorris inspired craft based college of #Ruskin Mill and many independent courses at venues such as #premaarts
Red explored the diminishing respect for his crafts traditional materials culture and process in our current era by utilising his skills in the entire process. Showcasing this premise in Fine Art "Road Kill The last Supper." Unto the Last” by John Ruskin 1860 and all the other references aside. He says it was great fun and definitely an eye opener to the banality of Mass Media." "I thought they were meant to be intelligent, but it's just click bait for the masses to consume" Reds last foray into the realm of fine art was with a piece representing the Economics in exhibited Bricklane London 2008
A global success and notoriety, he hopes it nudged future makers to take a stand and make a difference, by utilising natural resources without damaging the planet through indifference. "A pebble in the pool, so to speak"
